Newsletter March, 25, 2023: A shawl for spring 🌸

Semi-Precious Shawl

I'm so excited to re-introduce the Semi-Precious Shawl, the final pattern in the 20in20 collection

The Semi-Precious Shawl was first released in 2017 with the Madelinetosh shawl club subscription from Jimmy Beans Wool. The original version uses 12 different colors, but I always wanted to create a 2 color version of the shawl - mostly so there wouldn’t be so many ends to weave in! The result is a shawl that is slightly asymmetrical and just big enough to for light neck and shoulder coverage.

This new version uses just 300 yards/50g of 2 different colors (600 yards total), and I chose a luxurious cashmere linen blend from Jade Sapphire that I have been hoarding for years. It is the perfect blend of warmth and airiness for fall or spring.

Check out the original Semi-Precious shawl published in 2017 below - this version is included with the download and is great for using up leftovers!

Grab the Semi-Precious Shawl now 20% off until Monday, March 27th at Midnight PT! If you already own the pattern, the 2 color version is now downloadable in your library! The link below is for Ravelry, but you can also purchase it on my website or LoveCrafts.

The 20in20 ebook is FINALLY complete! The price will remain $25 for a bit longer, but then I will be increasing the price to $35 soon, so grab it before the price goes up!

Squares, squares, everywhere - and many more to knit! These little squares are a modification of the center flower motif in the Rain Lily mitts. I have been playing with the idea of a granny square style top constructed out of these little guys. Or, maybe a poncho? Or maybe a shawl!  Who knows! It's still a work in progress but for now I am enjoying making the squares!

Rōdster Adventures

It's been a minute since I have sent a Newsletter, and since then we have been practically been all around the country! Right now we are on the beautiful sunny shores of Puerto Penasco, Mexico! It has been a lovely place to avoid the winter cold - and the tacos!?! The absolute best!

That's it for this update! Thanks again, and see ya next time, friends! ~Rachel

Newsletter July, 18, 2022: Remembrall ⚡️Pattern Release (inspired by Harry Potter!)

Remembrall

Introducing Remembrall, pattern No. 19 in the 20in20 collection! Grab it 20% off until Friday at midnight PT!

Does anyone rewatch the Harry Potter movies way more often than you care to admit? Yeah, me too, no shame! Recently, while rewatching HP, I was inspired by Neville Longbottom’s Remembrall. This hat pattern is my representation of the Remembrall as a knitting pattern - a way to remember all your past knits in one project! The image above shows just a few of the projects represented in my sample!

Each color represents a knitting memory and you can use as many colors as you want and repeat them as many times as you want. I love that each color is a reminder of some beloved previous knitting project, especially the ones I’ve given away! And bonus, this is perfect for even the tiniest amount of yarn. Leftovers, especially small amounts are kinda the bane of my existence. I can’t throw them away, but I hate all the space they take up in my very small stash allotment. I almost have enough leftovers saved up to make another one!

Get the pattern 20% off through Friday at midnight PST on Ravelry or on my website!

I LOVE SWATCHING. There I said it, lol! I love learning what a yarn feels like in my hands, as well as what needle size is best for the fabric. This swatch is Berroco Remix Light and this yarn is MAGICAL. Blocking turned it into a light and airy poof of fabric and now I can't want to start my project!

Rōdster Adventures

We have continued our tour of the Pacific Northwest, and headed into British Columbia, Canada! We are staying at a lovely little RV park on Cultus Lake, BC (about an hour east of Vancouver) for a couple weeks until we head into the mountains and eventually over to Calgary. I am enchanted by the moss covered trees all around us!

I can't wait to see pics of your knitting time capsule hats - don't forget to share them with my on Instagram @rachelunraveled. Thanks so much for supporting my small business! ~Rachel

Newsletter July 2, 2022: Snow and Ashes MITTS!

Snow and Ashes Mitts

The Snow and Ashes Mitts are finally here!!

I LOVE a matching accessory set. In particular a shawl and fingerless mitt set really makes me happy because you can *almost* always make a pair of mitts out of shawl leftovers. It makes me happy to minimize leftovers and have a fabulous matchy matchy set!

The Snow and Ashes mitts match the Snow and Ashes shawl (duh!) and are super quick and easy to make. You will recognize most of the stitches from the shawl, and they use such a small amount of yarn you likely have enough leftovers! If you don’t have the shawl pattern yet, you can grab it here.

For those who already have the Snow and Ashes Shawl pattern, check your Ravelry messages because I sent you a special coupon for the mitts pattern ;) For everyone else you can grab the set on sale for just $10 through Monday at midnight PT, July 4th! Or, get the individual pattern 20% off!

I'm working on an extra special project for my mom! More details to come, but here is a little sneak peek. Hint, those XO braids might have something to do with birthstones ;)

We have been hanging around on the Washington coast for the last few weeks. This is the North Head Lighthouse in Long Beach WA. This area is touristy but beautiful and packed with things to do! We especially loved the nicely paved path that runs parallel to the beach and took us straight to this lighthouse!

To all my American friends, I hope you have a lovely Fourth of July weekend! ~Rachel
